Best Beef for Christmas Dinner Lidl
FESTIVE sarnies are almost as much of the Christmas season as mince pies, the John Lewis advert and advent calendars - but the amount of meat you get varies vastly.
We've found Greggs' Christmas sandwich is made up of just 18 per cent meat, making it the stingiest festive sarnie on the high street.
A Sun Money investigation looked at turkey Christmas sandwiches from leading supermarkets and retailers after a Tesco shopper discovered just two tiny bits of turkey in her festive wrap.
There aren't any specific rules that determine exactly how much meat should be in your sandwich - but more meat means better value for money.
In our snapshot check, we weighed the sausage, turkey and bacon that's in festive sandwiches sold on the high street from Aldi, Asda, Boots, Co-op, Greggs, Lidl, M&S, Morrisons, Pret, Sainsbury's and Tesco.
Then, we compared it to the overall weight of the sarnie to come up with a percentage that showed how much of it is made up of meat.
Lidl's Festive Turkey with sausage and bacon sarnie came out on top, with a huge 41 per cent of meat, and at £1.69 and it was the cheapest by far.
The lunchtime snack was the heaviest one we looked at in our investigation and weighed 258g in total - and contained 106g of meat.
It's more than twice as much than Gregg's Christmas Lunch Sandwich, which contained the least amount of meat at just 18 per cent.
Overall, the sandwich weighed 190g and contained only 34g of meat - the rest of the ingredients were made up of spinach, lettuce and bread.
Of course, it's worth noting that this festive number is only made with turkey, compared to Lidl's which has three meats.
Greggs' sarnie came top of our Christmas sandwich leader board on taste and value for money, but if meat is what you're looking for at lunchtime then Lidl's option is the best for you.
Asda's Turkey & Trimmings contains the second most amount of meat at 39 per cent.
Overall, the sandwich contains 95g of meat, made up of bacon, sausages and turkey.

Pret's Christmas Lunch sandwich was the most expensive sandwich we testes at £3.95 but was second to bottom on meat content.
At just 23 per cent meat, it was only 4 per cent more than Greggs.
Pret did not wish to add comment. Co-op and Greggs did not respond for comment.
Here's what they looked like:
Asda - 41 per cent meat
Sainsbury's - 39 per cent meat
Boots - 34 per cent meat
M&S - 34 per cent meat
Aldi - 31 per cent meat
Tesco - 31 per cent meat
